Not many years later, at age of 22, Brad entered
the business. Although he was only in his early
20s, he looked as if he was 16 years old. He
knew that his looks could have been a challenge
in gaining the trust of people, and therefore
worked hard and found ways to make it to his
advantage. His age, however, was only one factor
that could have been against him. The market
was soft, and many agents were exiting the business.
“A lot of people thought I was crazy for entering
the Real Estate Business at that time. As a
new agent I knew nothing more than to make it
happen no matter what the market was doing.”
He received his license in 1988.
He took full advantage of the industry and
attended many banquets hosted by the Salt
Lake Board of REALTORS® just to mingle and
get to know the top agents. He was well aware
of the success of these agents and looked
forward to the day he would join them in the
‘Million Dollar Club.’ Four years later, he
did just that.
“I have been a top multi million dollar producer
ever since and consistently rank in the top
5% of REALTORS®.” By being a careful observer
and focusing on his own efforts and those
of others, Brad Blumenthal has made his career
a most satisfying endeavor.
People make the difference
“My favorite part of my work as a REALTOR®
is definitely the building of relationships
with my clients. I thoroughly enjoy people,
and interacting with them. The people I work
with are what make my business so rewarding.
Through the buying and selling process I have
a great opportunity to personally get know
my clients and their families. Words cannot
explain the satisfaction I receive when my
client sincerely thanks me for a job well
done, and does it with a huge smile.”
Brad has been fortunate to have been with
Probe Realtors from the time he became an
agent. In addition, he works and lives in
the Cottonwood Heights area, where he grew
up. This long term relationship with a company
and locale has allowed him to become intimately
familiar with people and places, a definite
plus in this industry.
“It has always been attractive to be associated
with a company that specializes in the fine
homes of Salt Lake’s East bench, which is
the areas I mostly work. I have been recruited
by larger national companies, but found my
success is greatly due to my ability to promote
myself and my services more so than that of
the company. At Probe, I have the greatest
support team and broker available, not to
mention the fact that it is great to work
with my good friends.”

When Brad started in his career, he determined
that the most important aspect of his work
was to build strong and
lasting relationships with his clients through
honest and dedicated service. Because of that,
at least 75% of his business today is from
repeat clients and referrals. Working with
the same people over and over again is hardly
monotonous, however. There is plenty of change
in the business to keep each transaction alive
and fresh.
“Each and every person I work with is as
unique as are the homes I sell them. I love
the process of matching people with homes.
I enjoy the many different facets of real
estate that allow the opportunity to grow
and learn something new each day. I have incorporated
this knowledge into my business, working commercial,
land development, new construction, and investing
in my own income properties.”
Brad feels strongly about aligning himself
with professionals equally committed to serving
and servicing others. In the first years in
the business he worked with several different
lenders, escrow agents, and inspectors in
order to find the people with whom he would
work for the duration of his career.
“It was extremely important to me to find
professionals in those fields that would have
the same dedication, professionalism, and
personal care for my clients that I have,”
says Brad. “I realized early on that it only
takes one missing link to cloud a smooth transaction.
I have been associated, and worked exclusively
with the same loan officers and escrow agent
for 14 years now. We make a great team, and
they have a huge impact on my success.”
The benefits of personal touch
The real estate industry has seen tremendous
growth and expansion through the use of technology
since Brad entered the business in the late
1980s. But while Brad knows that computers,
the Internet and its many aspects of fast-paced
21st century living have contributed to his
success, he is also very much aware of how
easy it would be to get lost in all the gee-whiz
bells and whistles of the day.
“I try to implement all this technology to
my advantage,” says Brad, “and find it amazing
how it has opened the world of real estate.
But I still find my self exercising a lot
of the old school techniques as well. I strive
to keep as much of the personal touch as possible.”
For example, Brad personally visits at least
100 of his clients during the Holiday Season
and tries to catch them at home in order to
enjoy a good visit where he delivers a gift,
and calendar to each of them.
“I hope to find a way to visit even more
of my clients personally. It's always a great
and rewarding experience to see how their
lives have changed over the years. In addition
I mail my personal newsletter quarterly to
all my past clients, farm area, and future
clients.”
Brad’s clients, particularly those that he
has worked with over time, know that when
it comes to real estate, Brad Blumenthal has
it all.
“I feel that my experience in the industry,
my having a good and respectable reputation,
professionalism and dedication to meeting
all my clients’ needs, as well as the personal
touch my clients enjoy are all part of the
success I have achieved over the years.”
Making life count in and out of the office
Brad has many interests and hobbies that
he enjoys doing with his friends and family,
including water-skiing/boating, motorcycle
riding, snowmobiling, hunting, and spending
time anywhere in the out-of-doors. As a family,
they enjoy annual Lake Powell and Jackson
Lake trips as well as motorcycle rides that
take them all over the country. All this fun
and relaxation allows him to excel in every
aspect of his life.
“I've found the time away doing what I love
has greatly helped me focus and be more successful,”
says Brad. “It’s important to take a step
away from the business from time to time and
enjoy life. It's too easy to get consumed
in the business, and forget to enjoy the great
life it affords us.”
Working in real estate has been a huge motivator
for Brad and has allowed him to enjoy a great
lifestyle and flexibility. He is motivated
and inspired by the people with whom he works,
and has always had an interest in what makes
people who they are, and in studying and reading
people and their expressions and how they
became successful.
Which takes us back to the one all-encompassing
element of that success, and some of the best
advice Brad was ever given:
“True professionalism in this business requires
total focus,” says Brad. “Focusing on service
and how to meet other’s needs will pave the
way to success.”
